In a preliminary report of a clinic trail for anxious adults who complained of insomnia, the study found that five weekly treatments of acpuncture increased quality of sleep, sleep duration and anxiety scores.  The incidence of insomnia is estimated to be around 35% to 40% of US adult population (60 million Americans) and expected to rise to 100 million by the middle of the 21st century.
